What a great get together, had a wonderful time, Company was fantastic thanks to the organizers !!!! Fred, your bloody mary's are the bomb, did I say that right younger members....grin.

What a weekend! It wound up a great success but not without its moments. There were 65 signed up on the website. As of Saturday afternoon We had 43 signed at the KOA office. We committed to cover 80! (several suggested we go to Paypal to eliminate the guessing-you pay by the deadline or you don't eat-if anyone wants to take that on next year please step up.) There was a motion made that those who signed up & didn't withdraw & did't show should pay-I'll leave that to their conscience. At $17 per, do the math. Add in the $7 match for each club member paid. That's a lot of smackolas. So while everyone filed in to eat I played gatekeeper, inspecting wrist bands. Long story short, due office snafus we wound up with a count of 70. The manager Yolanda was very gracious about accepting the number we gave. While I was stressing out cool hand Luke (da Prez) never batted an eyelash. Wish I had his panache. Anywho, it was awesome. Tri-tip, chicken & pork with all the trimmings. Got lots of compliments which I passed on. No complaints. Special thanks also to Gary and Linda. They do such a good, smooth job I think a lot of times we take them for granted.

Part II-not good. Left with the usual buds who shall remain just the buds. Riding sweep, I had to get rid of the gallon of Gary's coffee I had at 6. Pulled over near Geyserville. Did a parking lot drop. Cosmetic damage but still may prove costly. What to do. Went to fire station where very nice firemen took pity while I tried t raise the boys. After 1 1/2 hours, no luck I took off at 12:30 for Busters in Calistoga knowing by now they were far away. Sure enough, got to Busters & they all called-from Winters!! & would wait a few minutes. Gordy, Al Morrison & Steve Jones were just finishing up as I stood in the long line. They insisted on waiting till I finished mine & we rode home together. Much appreciated.

I agree that those who RSVP then pull a no show should pay anyway. Payment ahead is a good idea, but it's too bad we have to go to that. In my case I showed, checked in and paid, set up then found out I had a family emergency. I packed up and left which meant I would not have been counted at dinner.
