Ok , let's get a little substance goin on here. 01 R1100s. Have put 31,000 on her last two years. Did she run well? Yes. Did I really have an issue? No. After reading and knowing bout how our bikes run lean outta the factory and all the fixes folks attempt to deal with this issue, I bit the bullet and purchased an AF-XIED from Beemerboneyard. Install was simple. Bigger PITA gettin the frickin' tupperware and tank off. New battery, new air filter since I was in there. Buttoned her all up. Set the XFIED as recommended and noticed a bit more fuel then I thought necessary. Took it back a click and took her for a ride. They say it takes 2,3,4 tanks of fuel for full adaptation of the unit. But, based on my results from the official butt dyno after a spirited ride I have to say, HOLY S#&T, what a difference in performance. Throttle off, smooth. No snatchiness. Roll on power. STRONG throughout. Idle. Smooooth. Spend all ur $ on loud assed pipes and Techclusions, Power Commanders and all the other blah, blah crap and plunk down the 200 $ and get one of these gems. Your bike will love u and u will love ur bike. I'm gonna go ride and ring her neck this weekend. Can't wait for full adaptation. She's like a different bike. What she shoulda been from the start. SMMOOOOTTH!

Hey Mikey,
I did the same on my 2011 Adventure. I agree that it runs better than stock but????? I've been using position 7 and still get more pinging that I would like on warm days. I've tried 8 and 9 and it runs worse than stock. Let me know what happens when temps get above 85.

Curt,
Like I posted, started on the 7 position. Fired it up in the geerage and it was runnin' real rich. RICH, smelled like Richmond! So, dialed it back to 6. Bike ran great. Try dialin' it back a click. Ur still gettin more fueling then stock. Have noticed ping in low RPM pulls with this bike. More so when the temps rise to 80 or so. I will turn down the intercom and see if i detect ping. Don't think so. Did quite a few low rpm roll ons and was amazed at how behaved
the bike performed. Did you do a reset? Battery disconnected for 15 mins. or so? Not sure it matters but? Gonna do a good ride Sat. and wiil post. So far bud, I like it!
Mikey.

Day #1 with the af-xied. Bout 200 miles or so. Ride was truncated as RosevilleRick decided his rear tire needed to eat a rather large bolt outside of Angles Camp. A coupla ropes and some glue allowed us to make a u turn and head towards the barn. The Xied rocked. All fuelling through out all RPMs is better. I didn't know a boxer could idle this smoothly. It does. Roll on throttle is smooth and stronger. Not sure why, but mpg was 3 mpg better. Not easy on the throttle. Winter gas just plain sucks. Surprised! Coupla more fuel stops and I may make an adjustment but am happy at this point. This is one mod that works. KEEPER!

Hello All!

This is my first post. Just seen this on the website and had to respond. Because of regulations on emissions, there are many vehicles that run lean. I have a car that does the same. I have a 2014 f800gs and noticed it (running lean) as soon as I got the bike. I've known about Lucas UCL and I swear by it. At low rpm (as when maneuvering through a parking lot) my bike was super abrupt and jerky when using the throttle. I put a couple of squirts (no more than 1.5 ounces) in the tank at every fill up, and in the first tank the abrupt throttle sensation was completely eliminated. I was thinking about a "Booster Plug" for the bike, but I didn't want to void warranty since the bike is new. Also, the bike's vibrations have diminished considerably. I would like to say that I feel my bike runs the way it should. Some people use smokeless 2cycle oil as well.

Hey MooMoo,
Welcome. Glad the Lucas works for you. Too late for me as I have spent the $, performed the deed, and am VERY happy with the results. The af-xied is easily adjustable and time will tell as to where I settle in that regard. I understand your concern as far as the warranty is concerned. Have read many reviews in regard to the 800gs and this device and the results. Very positive. Welcome to the forum, and if you aren't an RCB member, you should be! Regards, Mike 8)

HUGE!!! K bikes, boxers, Harleys, f800's... 99% positive. There r charts and graphs that'll give u a frckin' head ache. They work. Considering all the $ people spend to get their bikes to run as they should, these things are bargain. Butt dyno and mpg confirm it. Still in the adaptation mode and likin' it.
