MANCHESTER BEACH

The weather looks like it should be fantastic. Sunny with upper 60's to low 70's during the day.

We have named the Manchester Beach event in Gary Stofer's honor this year, and I personally invite you to join us if you have not registered already.

As always, RCB has paid for tent spaces in the usual spot, and members can pitch your tent wherever you find an open space after paying the KOA fee at the KOA office. Kabins probably have been booked up, but you can watch for cancellations.

RCB will provide coffee, pastries, etc. for b'fast Saturday and Sunday morning. KOA is doing the cooking Saturday night with BBQ tri tip, chicken and sides. Fred says he will be mixing up margaritas Friday night and Bloody Mary's Saturday night. If this doesn't suit your palette, various beers will be on ice. I'm hoping we also may see the return of a Manchester favorite - shake n' bake Friday night.

I hear there are $900+ in raffle prizes so if I may borrow a phrase: "Buy tickets." The winner of the mileage contest will be announced at the member meeting Saturday night, and will be receiving a gift certificate for a new set of tires.

Members volunteer to organize RCB events so we officers and Board members want to provide tools to make their job easier. Our new web site software was acquired in part with this in mind. Sixty-two people have signed up for Manchester so far, and the software took care of most of the details. I want to thank everyone for signing up on the new web site. This was its first test for organizing events, and it appeared to work easily once a few early bugs were worked out. For those who experienced difficulties, thanks for your patience. For all who signed up, many thanks.

See you at Manchester. Ride safe.

Jack

Jack, I don't remember RCB ever paying for the tent sites, is that something new this year? I've always paid something like $10 per night to pitch my tent.

Still 10.00 a night. Good deal for what you get.

My understanding is the $10 is a KOA fee in addition to the cost of the tent sites.

Right you are! I will have some margarita mix, tequila and triples sec for Friday night on a first come, first serve yourself. Saturday night will be Bloody Marys with a little bit of a twist, you'll have to wait and see then, I will be doing the mixing for the members. With all the beer and wine you guys have been talking about I believe we won't be lacking for alcohol.

For anyone still looking for a group to ride with, there is one leaving from Susie's at about 9 or so on Friday. Plan is to ride back roads to Napa, through Petaluma and then out to the coast and north. Route sheets and directions will be provided.

Last year it was rain.

It definitely was a great weekend; I think we showed those bocce ball players how to have a good time! The wind on the way home sucked, I think I'd rather ride through rain. Many thanks again to all those who made the weekend possible, especially Ray for being such a great host!

Fantastic time, great company, Great rides. Thank you Ray and Fred and all the folks that put this together. Made it home OK, rode through where all the fires are now. Sending positive energy for for all the folks affected and wishing them the best.

Thanks to Ray and everyone who hosted the event. The wind from Willams to Yuba City was epic. Sixty mph gusts made riding very difficult. By far the worst wind I have ever ridden through. Made it home safe and looking forward to next year.

We'll prolly get snow next year Scott. It's always something.
I felt for you guys. Found out how stable the Slingshot is in the wind. Still breathed in a bucket of dust and leaves.
