Fall Colors Ride 2015

On Wednesday we ride to dinner and on Saturday we ride to breakfast. Those and any other rides are coordinated and (sometimes) reported here.

Fall Colors Ride 2015

The route files are available on the website here.
This year we're starting at the Denny's on Coach Lane in Cameron Park, just off the freeway. The ride will take us over Luther and Monitor passes, then up through Virginia City and over Geiger Grade. We'll visit the old Donner Pass road, then up to 20 and over past Grass Valley and end up at the Chevron on Combie Road off 49.

This ride is 294 miles, and should end around 4 or so.

So what time do you plan "Clutch Out" from Denny's?

8 o'clock, as shown on the route sheet.
The weather is looking iffy, though.

The weather is looking worse, now. I'll be at Denny's for breakfast in any case.
If the weather is bad, we may go for a shorter version.

If it's raining in the mountains I'll turn right on 88 and take some favorite foothills roads.

Ken, What a great route you set today. Thanks for requesting the break in the weather, as well. Once we got above 5000 feet, it was a really nice day, for a beautiful ride. Makes me feel sorry for all those suckers who stayed home to watch football.

Ditto on the great ride, Ken. And you set a new (I think) RCB record starting out with a dozen or so riders and ending up with one........

Great Ride. Thanks Ken.

We did a little over 300 miles.

Gordy, Steve and I peeled off in Markleeville so Gordy could check out a campsite Steve and I like a lot.

Gordy had to go home from Markleeville. Steve and I were not able to catch up by Virginia City so we HAD to stop for BBQ at Virginia City BBQ. Very good. They also make their own jerky. Highly recommend it as a lunch destination for a day ride.
