RCB Ride and Shoot

Hi all, I'm putting together a ride and shoot for the club tentatively on Saturday April 25th. We'll be putting together a short ride and end up at Beale AFB at their rod and gun club. There info can be found here http://www.bealefss.com/rod-n-gun-club.html.

Price for use of the range is $4-6/hr (depending on how many people sign up) and I figure to be there a couple of hours at least. Weapons should be carried in compliance with California state laws which can be found here http://oag.ca.gov/firearms/travel. Lockable saddle bags should be in compliance with state laws. Weapons are also available for rent at the range and run $4.

In order to expedite entry onto the base, I will need your first name, last name, birthday and DL number. I will have the entry authorization list at the next meeting and can take down the information there. Do NOT post your info here. Of course if you have a military ID you do not need to give me your info but remember to have it on you at the day of the shoot.

I expect to leave from Susie's at 9 and arrive at Beale around 10ish. After shooting, we can ride down to the Coyote Grill on base and have lunch. I'm also trying to set up a photo shoot for the group in front of the SR71 static display.

This shoot is open to all skill levels. If you don't own a gun but want to participate, I will volunteer my weapons for you to try them out. All I ask is you purchase your own ammo which they have for sale there. I'd like you to identify your skill level as beginner, intermediate or expert when signing up so myself or Ray can help coach those that need. Also, if anyone else that is adept at weapons handling or a certified RSO/NRA instructor, your help would be appreciated as well.

If you have any questions, please post them here or PM me directly.

Sign up below so I can see how many are interested.

I'll add that each rider entering the base will need to present a current proof of insurance. Anyway that used to be the policy.

Good point Ken. They probably won't ask but yeah, current registration and insurance is required as well as long pants, gloves helmet (duh), boots (no tennis shoes) and a jacket of contrasting color. The jacket does not have to be bright colors, just contrasting. I have a light grey and black jacket that I've used to enter the base.

Of course Rocklin Mike and the Red Dot Sniper Roxanne will be in attendance. My son will provide AK 7.62 support on our flank. As Riiicccky said, you buy the ammo and you can fire my Glock. 8)

One more bit of info I forgot to provide about entering Beale AFB. Regulations require that safety apparel be worn while operating motorcycles on the installation. I know we're all really good about ATGATT but just in case you'll need to wear gloves, boots, helmet (duh), long pants (jeans are fine), and a jacket with contrasting colors. You used to have to wear a reflective vest but that's not the case anymore. Just as long as it's contrasting and fairly visible. I wear a silver and black jacket on base all the time. Any questions feel free to contact me.

Turns out because of a short notice extended vacation, I won't be able to go... I'll see you guys in late July or August. Keep the shiny side up!

Not sure if the weather is going to cooperate but we'll be going rain or shine. If you want to cage it that's no problem. See you all in the AM.

Thanks Rick. Had a good time. Here is a link to Prolix, the less smelly and water soluble solvent I use to clean my guns instead of Hoppes we were talking about.
