The Day after New Years Eve Ride

On Wednesday we ride to dinner and on Saturday we ride to breakfast. Those and any other rides are coordinated and (sometimes) reported here.

The Day after New Years Eve Ride

Postby r90beemer » Wed Dec 18, 2013 2:23 pm

Given the seemingly undending dry weather and that New Years Day falls on a Wednesday perhaps we should consider taking that Dec. 7 ride we didn't. I know I for one would like to get out of the house so I don't have to take the Christmas Ornaments off the tree. Any interest? Tom Moe

The day AFTER new years eve and new years day are both the same day - New Years Day. :?

Additional information - Suzies and the Diamond Springs Hotel will both be open New Years Day so we can take the ride as planned for Dec. 7. Route and Garmin routes both posted on this site.

So, let's plan on clutches out at 9:00 AM as per usual. Anyone have a strong desire to lead?

How about the ride we didn't take on Dec. 7? It is posted in rides and destinations with PDF and Garmin Files. Tom

Good idea! We can still call it "The Day After December 6th Ride" but reschedule it for the day after December 31st!

So do you call it a 12/07/13 or 01/01/14 ride? It's confusing me. And are you sure of the day?

Given this is my favorite day of the year, the 21st, whenst we commence gaining a minute a day,or a tee time a week, makes the current confunderence extant in this epistle, seen infra, all the more nettlesome. Two prior references, one attributable to a Mr. Marx, and one to a Mr. Rogers re entering or leaving the room, become most apposite. Thank goodness the date in mind is a number less than the number of digits most of us possess. I'm just waiting for the Einstein who shows up on the 7th, is pissed nobody else did, & threatens to quit the club.

I am seeing two headings for this post. What day are we talking about, January 1st or 2nd??? If Jan. 1st, is Susie's going to be open (assuming that is where the ride starts)?

Kenneth, Kenneth, Kenneth.
Don't start with me, I'm trying to be constructive and clarify. You debase. Your quote re "eschew obfuscation" is of course Yogi, the base of all philosophy-ergo-"90% of short putts don't go in the hole."
To your point, "we" have a similar lexicotically influenced reference known as "judicial omphaloskepsis." Suspecting this exercise may cause undue consternation (or constipation), may I provide further help? The loose translation is carefully inspecting one's navel for lint.

Ken-re your interrogatory:
1. "Convert"-when I post at 0530 it shows posted at 0630. DST = dAYLIGHT sAVINGS tIME-hellloooo??? (& please, no hi brow tekkie response. I still think my Garmin is for looking at pretty pictures, drawings & stuff.)
2. "Kidding?"-hell no, I take everything you say literally.

Speaking of, quit using that "bmrjack wrote, blah, blah, blah." I dinna ken that stuff either.

Third point first: the Quote feature gives one a way to indicate that a reply in a thread is to one particular post, as opposed to the original, or any other.
As to the DST setting, there is one for the board system, which is set correctly. However, individuals can have their own DST setting (or time zone, for that matter) that overrides the board setting.
To change yours, go to the User Control Panel (upper-right corner of the screen) and to Preferences, where you can set your time zone and turn DST on or off.
Now... hmmm... the day after new years eve... that would be next year, right?

LET'S RIDE........the very first post on this subject -- almost lost after all the silliness -- suggested a Wednesday 9am departure from Susie's. I see no reason to change that. See you then/there.
