Manchester Beach Poker Run

On Wednesday we ride to dinner and on Saturday we ride to breakfast. Those and any other rides are coordinated and (sometimes) reported here.

Manchester Beach Poker Run

Postby tlash » Tue Sep 07, 2010 11:05 am

For those of you who are riding to the Manchester Beach KOA for the annual weekend event, how about a poker run? Here’s what I’m thinking —

On that Friday and/or Saturday ride to five separate towns where the town name begin with one of these letters:
R-C-B-M-W. For example, the “R” could be Roseville, for the “W” perhaps Woodland. Next, from some business in each of those towns get a receipt that shows the name of the town, and the date and time. Gas station receipts, a lunch receipt, buy a bottle of water at a market, etc. It must be dated either Friday, October 1st, or Saturday the 2nd, however. Then sometime Saturday afternoon before the business meeting at the KOA, show me your five receipts, pay $5, and draw five cards. High hand splits the pot with a charity. If there are more than just a few of us playing, maybe we could do 50% to the charity, and 25%/25% high-hand, low-hand split.

Only an idea right now. I know it’s late notice, and we might not get more than just a few of us who read this board. Anyone interested?

Count me in!

Let's see. I can get the "C" just by filling up in my home town before departure ...

Sounds good, though I'm unlucky at cards.

Just consider my $$ a donation, then.

After an email discussion with Fred, we've decided that 100% of the pot will be returned to the players. We'll be going with a high/low split. So those of you who are unlucky, and always draw bad cards, might have a chance. :D

Who's the charity? If I win (check with Gordy for my history of winning), I'll donate my winnings.

Let's see ... "M" ... Where's an "M" between Cameron Park and Manchester??? ;-)
