Back from the MOA in Redmond

On Wednesday we ride to dinner and on Saturday we ride to breakfast. Those and any other rides are coordinated and (sometimes) reported here.

Overall, it was a very well organized Rally. Sooo, many things to do, people to see, events to attend, seminars to attend and local rides to take.

I rode to Redmond and back with Jim Smith who rode his classic R80R. It was a very comfortable pace with gratifying results. 1,192 miles ridden using 22.1 gallons of fuel for an average overall of 52.7 mpg. The best segment being Klamath Falls to Folsom at 55.7 mpg, a new personal best for mpg. You just gotta love the RTs.

Jim entered the R80 in the bike judging where it earned an excellent score in the mid-90s. the winner was at 100 points. Way to go Jim.

We rode a day ride around the 3 Sisters mountain view loop. Lots of lava and some very entertaining twisties. There were at least a hundred Beemers on the route. They were everywhere.

We had a great time with the only downside being not able to do everything that was offered in only 3 days.

And I'd add a great big thanks for Mike Robles for hauling stuff back and forth to the rally and especially for the hot coffee every morning.

Mike and George did an outstanding job of not only hauling stuff for people, but for the shade, the coffee, the great camp site, the coffee, the cooler (which was kept full at all times), the coffee, and did I mention how fantastic it was to have hot coffee ready first thing in the morning? Another person who went over and above was Curt Fargo, who brought extra fried chicken for us all that one night, next went out for a beer run, put in an extra $20, and, like me, he doesn't drink. Over all it was a very good rally, even with the shower problem, and we had 63+ members attending, a pretty good showing out of 202. I'm very proud of our club and its members. Thanks to all who attended.
