Mt. Lassen Dual Sport Ride Abandoned

On Wednesday we ride to dinner and on Saturday we ride to breakfast. Those and any other rides are coordinated and (sometimes) reported here.

Mt. Lassen Dual Sport Ride Abandoned

Postby jack » Tue May 18, 2010 10:01 pm

Well, recent weather has not produced conditions suitable for an organized dual sport ride. Bottom line? There is still too much snow, etc. above 5000 feet. Oh well, I'm now forced to ride some of the best asphalt on the east side of the valley. Poor, poor pitiful me.

Looking forward to seeing you at the KOA.

Cheers,

Jack

So is there a group ride up there? If so when/where is the meeting point? Or does this mean I have to break out a map and actually plan a route?

To clarify, only the dual sport ride is cancelled, the Kampout is still on!

Due to the weather, Rand and I are going up tomorrow morning after breakfast instead of today. Any one wanting to come along can meet us at Susie's tomorrow morning.

I would like to thank Jack, Lynell, and all the others who managed to put on a spectacular feast for those of us who braved the cold, the snow, rain, snow, hail, snow and more snow. Did I mention it snowed? Despite all that it was still fun and there was no shortage of fantastic food and good people to enjoy it with. Looking forward to next year.

Many thanks to Jack and Lynell and there crew for a great weekend. The camping in the Lodge #2 was great. We hardly notice the snow. The food was outstanding and hot coffee every morning. Good people, good food and good time. It was great.

Thanks again,

Bill
