April 2017 President's Corner

Daffodils, California poppies and tree allergies are my signs riding season is about to start. It also signals the time I do not have to go through photos of previous rides to scratch my riding itch – in this case Baja 2015. I plan trips with the earnest desire they are not sabotaged by work commitments. I hope you are plotting your riding events short or long, domestic or exotic. As you think about the summer, I suggest taking a look at the RCB calendar. RCB already has gone to Mendocino for whale watching.

April 28-30, Terry is leading a ride to Morro Bay where the group will stay at the Morro Crest Inn. May 19-21, Ricky and Mike are organizing the Spring Classic, a weekend of camping at the Trinity Lake KOA (a Kamper Kabin can be reserved through KOA). June 16-18, Scott is organizing the Pine Creek ride, a weekend of camping and exploring the outback of central Nevada, at the Pine Creek campground (our Base Camp) nestled in Aspen trees at the base of 11,814 ft. Mt. Jefferson. I have reserved camping space at the MOA National Rally in Salt Lake City in mid-July. Look for details in the RCB Forum, most likely Rides and Destinations, for these events. Whatever you may do, share your ride and riding experience with RCB by submitting an article to the Newsletter Editor. Better still, plan a ride for RCB. When asked:
My favorite ride is the one I’m about to start.
